Blessed with greatness.

I learned a lot of things in my life, even though I am still young. One thing I have learned is the importance of family!! I am very fortunate to get to see my family a few times a year. Some people don't have family or never see them. I couldn't imagine. We get together 4 times a year ( Christmas, thanksgiving, family reunion in the summer, and lastly grandmas birthday) this weekend just happens to be my grandmas birthday! She will be 82 years old. Family get together are always bittersweet. We haven't seen each other in awhile but yet we all act like we saw each other yesterday! I love seeing my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents!!!! I am very blessed to have an amazing family! Happy 82nd birthday, grandma!! <3

Be the Change!

Most of you already know that I went to New York, but I haven’t been able to take the time and tell everyone what happened. There were a lot of tears and also smiles. It has forever changed me!

We arrived to Atlantic City, New Jersey late on December 12th. Pulling up to the City it was beautiful at night with all the lights from the casinos and tourist attractions! This was before the sun came up and we could see all the destruction. A month and a half later and it was still unbearable to even look at.

I am so thankful for all those who helped make this trip possible. I called my good friend Holly one night while we were helping the Sandy victims in SoHo, New york and I told her that I couldnt just sit back and do nothing. I had to make a difference. I posted an event on facebook and then the prect took off. So many people were calling and texting me telling me they had donations. I was overwhelmed but so happy! Holly, Kelsey, Patti, and I put a lot of work into making this trip happen. Thanks to all those who Donated. It meant the world to them. We had more donations than we expected. We filled 15 passenger van to the brim!!!

After we dropped off our donations in Atlantic City, we went to see the damage in Toms River, New Jersey. This city was on the news nationwide and we wanted to help all we could. Toms River is the city just south of Seaside Heights (Where Jersey Shore is filmed) :) We handed out our Home Depot gift cards that we received as donations! This part of the trip was the most life-changing. We spent a few hours chatting with these homeowners and hearing their stories and how they have coped since the storm.

Because of this trip I have chosen to be a better person in 2013!! I have pledged to "Give more than I receive" I went through our local charity event calenders, and I have chosen atleast one charity a month!

Life Lesson.

Many of you know what happened this week. I've learned a lot about myself and life this last week. Monday, I found out that my friend Kelsi was in a car accident. I dropped everything and left town to be by her side. I run a pizza restaurant, and I called in to work for 5 days. I am still in school and missed all my classes this week. I guess what I am trying to say is, this girl means more to me that I thought possible.
Friendship was a word that has never meant a lot to me because I allow my friends to come in and out of my life. Not this one. Kelsi, I am here and I am here to stay! You were my life, my family, my rock for a year and a half at USF. You are what got me through. I never never laughed so much in my entire life than I did with you. You bring out the best in me! I am truly blessed to call you a Best Friend. You keep me on my toes thats for sure, :P but i wouldnt have it any other way.
I've learned that you are a friend that I will have the rest of my life! So many people have told me that i have taught them a lesson this week. One special person told me that they were "blown away by my incredible example of friendship." It wasnt that though, its all the memories that we have together that I knew I would never let go.
All of our silly moments have been running through my mind all week. Some I have gotten to share with your family. You are blessed with an amazing family might I add! I love all of them.
My most memorable moment is Mr. Lizard and you performing surgery on him after kicking him into the hallway to come tell me something
.... or our every night ritual of  Me- "Kelsi its bed time!" Kelsi- "NOOOOOO!"
..... and all the times I am talking to your door and it turns out you ran to the bathroom.
..... and everytime i know on your door and jingle your door nob. you always say. " I DONT WANT ANY!"
These are just a few.

I miss you so much. I am so glad that you are doing better. I cannot wait to talk to you today. And i cannot wait to see you!

Love you
